Please welcome Cheyenne! Steve and I found and hired a nanny to care for our boys! As previously noted for those that might not read the blog as often as you would like, we have pulled the boys out of school to bring them back to a healthier state. We just felt sickness was a constant element in our house one week after the next and we all are just exhausted from it. School was a great experience and look forward to when they return...down the road.
It was more emotional than anything to pull them out of school because you could tell they just loved all the interaction amongst their peers and teachers. However, we always want what is best and well, Cheyenne is the next best thing for this transition. She interviewed with us Saturday morning. Cheyenne was already observing the boys in their environment and interacting with them as if she had met them before. She comes to our family bringing a few years of childcare (previous Nanny and Babysitting) experience and had once worked at a daycare/pres-school setting just shortly after high school. Steve was monitoring the boys while we had new window screens installed and so I started asking questions and trying to get to know who she would be as a Nanny to our boys. She was able to see Jack get emotional, and frankly he was just not himself as he was just getting over the big hump from being sick, but at least she was able to see how a not so pleasant moment can go. Honestly it was not bad and he is starting to feel almost 100%. She was not turned off by it and even tried to redirect him to play with something that she knew he would like. This is what we need, someone who can just step in and take control. The last thing I need is to come home to our Nanny tied to the palm tree out back. :)
We are thrilled to have her join our family and we are looking froward to getting to know her more as we did with our other nannies. Steve and I have been blessed to have always found great nannies to care for our love bugs. Not only did we select Cheyenne because of her personality and experience, but we also felt a strong chemistry with her. It is important just as if it were any other relationship. We asked her if she felt it too because this would be a sign of things looking good for us all. She will start with us full time on Monday May 21st. A big thank you to Karley for giving us her mornings through Thursday. Cheyenne is wrapping up her current job but is able to shadow Karley two mornings this week to get a feel for their morning/breakfast/lunch/nap routine.
It was nice to see Zach and Jack saying good-bye to Cheyenne as she pulled away. Of course our little romantic, Zachary, was able to sneak a hug in before she parted ways. :)
As with all things in life...one day at a time.
