I was looking forward to the weekend and possibly getting out to the zoo with the boys. However, Saturday morning rolled around and things were NOT off to a good start. Um, so there are certain times we like this age because they are learning so much more and really becoming BIG BOYS, but it is safe to say that as much as we don't want to rush things, Steve and I are certainly looking forward to them turning 3 anticipating they don't always feel the need to say, no...later or really trying to show us they are independent and don't care to listen. I know...this is at every age and I mean every age. ;) Amongst other variables, it was just a morning of being clingy, whiny, and apparently a morning where the boys' were trying to get upset each other by running away with their toys, etc. Let's fast forward to the afternoon, shall we. Down for nap they go and a miracle that Zach did not fight us considering the morning we had with him. Tick tock, tick tock, tick tock...amazing. They slept for 3 1/2 hours. Can we repeat after me...CLEARLY they were in need of sleep because they woke and were well behaved the rest of the evening. So, we finally were able to head off to Target to get some things. The boys needed new shoes and so we picked up new tennis shoes for school and play shoes for at home. They play so hard at school that we will need to keep up fast! I was bummed because I left my phone in the car and so I could not take pictures of us shopping in Target. The past few times we have gone they were not keen on the cart, rather they LOVE walking around each carrying a basket. They love to just go up to shelves and put items in the basket so we have to be careful when we check out...HA. We make our rounds and have to be certain they each have the same amount in their basket. The do cause some attention and I feel bad because the boys look like they need help carrying the basket but they say no...okay then. Too many people smile, or say oh how cute (and I am thinking you wouldn't be saying oh how cute if you saw them 5 hours ago...:0), and a little girl asking her mom if she saw the two babies, yes babies, carrying the baskets. As we walk out the boys wanted to wear their new shoes so we changed them out and they practiced walking and running in them before making our way into the car. After we got settled it was off to Chili's for dinner. We had not been in a long time. The last time Steve and I went to Chili's I was pregnant with the boys and had a craving for their chicken tacos, which I did not see on the menu this time. This was the first trip for the boys and it was a great time, especially because their voices blended in with the crowd. ;) It is a great place to not worry if food is thrown on the floor or hands are on the window because they like to see the left over Mac n Cheese hand print. LOL. Insert here...we do stop them and don't let them carry on still teaching them to have good manners when we are at a restaurant. Sorry...for that one person that has to clean up from the exciting evening. The server was nice and made certain that Mom and Dad were ahem taken care of but that the boys were too. He brought over extra coloring crayons. They had macaroni and cheese with apples. Clearly this was a dish for someone that was 5 because they could have split it, BUT again, as big as the dish was they both did really good. We had a fun time at dinner and look forward to going back.
On the way home Steve turned up the music and was playing air drums. The boys decided to take part in the fun activity...although it looks as if they have an "issue" of some sort or possibly playing the piano, so they will need to improve the "drum".
Here are some pics and video of our improved Saturday afternoon!

Sorry for the strange looking eyes, but the other videos were a little dark because I did not have the flash on at first...Enjoy!
