After the boys received numerous "bowl" cuts, from there we tried cutting their hair ourselves. The first attempt many months back was just okay. I did have to follow them around with the shears to fix the problem areas...LOL. From there Steve has been trying to master his haircutting skills, but I have to say that after a couple of attempts, he agreed to bringing them somewhere for a professional cut. Could it be I kept complaining about their hair...:) One of our last professional attempts we tried taking the boys to see a barber downtown San Clemente. The boys were fussy and disliked the process and we had to leave. The barber had this clipper like tool hooked up to a hose and made this LOUD noise and so well, that would make me nervous too.
In any event, there are kid friendly salons that are designed to help keep kids involved and focused. With the holidays and their formal pictures (hopefully with Mama and Dada) approaching that it was time to even out their last "do it yourself at home haircut". Karley and Nana took the boys over to Kids Cuts at the Mission Viejo Mall. We got updates along the way and the finished product looked much better than most recent cuts. Although Zach was not too thrilled in the beginning of the process and so I can see where the stylist had some difficulty as the front is slightly uneven. Their hair is a little shorter in back but it is hair and will grow, just in time for pictures in the next week and a half. The boys are now sporting Faux Hawk cuts!
Overall, haircuts look good and they had a great time playing afterwards. Nana also took the gang to PF Changs for some lunch so it was just an exciting morning!
