Life with Jack & Zach: OC Zoo 9/4/2010

Steve and I took the boys to the zoo for the first time over Labor Day Weekend. The OC Zoo is a lot smaller than most zoos, but we thought since it is so close to our apartment, why not check it out! It certainly was a busy park, not to mention HOT! The boys had such a great time. Although since we went in the afternoon, it appears the animals were taking their afternoon nap. We did get to experience a training session with one of the trainers. We were up close to watch Amanda, a mountain cat, have an afternoon snack. Since Amanda was skittish, we were told to keep noises to a minimum. We were nervous because the boys get so excited about a lot of things and generally use their voice to show excitement! :) However, they did well and just looked on. With that said, I did not capture any photos of the feeding because I was uncertain of how Amanda would react, and I don’t think the trainer would have been too happy. :) The zoo of course had a petting section. Steve took the boys in one at a time. Boy oh boy did they have a ball. I could not stop laughing at how excited they were to see the animals. Steve had to hold onto them because if not they just took of running after the animals. In light of all the excitement and laughter, I was able to snap some shots! We are certainly looking forward to our next adventure with the boys!
