1st Birthday -- 6/6/2009

Zach and Jack - One Year Photo

Wow...reflecting back on their first year, we can hardly believe that the boys are ONE. We are so proud of the boys, how much they are learning, and growing each day. It is amazing what they absorb early on! There was a moment when we were a little worried about their development because as most of you might know they were 7 weeks early. Dr. T, our pediatrician (who we miss dearly by the way), mentioned that generally premature babies can be up to a year behind developmentally. Not our boys. From the 2nd month check up all the way up until Dr. T had the pleasure of being our doc, he was always impressed with "Jack Man" and "Zach Attack"...as he called them. Dr. T...we miss you! Steve was not with me at their 1 year check-up, but this was the last time the boys saw Dr. T. and their actions certainly did melt my heart. Five minutes into the check-up, the boys were crawling all over the place, under the chairs, and in the cabinets. Ha..Dr. T looked at me and said I am tired just by watching them. Dr. T got the sweetest good-bye as the boys reached up to him and gave hugs. :)

Their birthday was so fun, exciting, and at the same time bittersweet emotionally. Probably more so due to the simple fact they are one step closer to the toddler stage. The boys did very well on their big day. They slept really well for the morning nap, just as I was hoping they would do, and up in time for the start of their party! Although it was one exhausting day, we had plenty of help! The theme was Baby Sesame Street featuring the one and only Baby Elmo! The "cupcake" cake turned out fabulous! The bakery did an amazing job...exceeded our expectations. The boys also got a lot of fun toys and clothes. Here are some pics of the fun filled day! We also caught them on video, but I will attempt to load that footage some other day.

***Thank goodness for the large garage***
