The boys started Preschool in March. They are loving it this time around and I am so proud of them and what they have accomplished. Ms Maria lets me know how well they are doing with listening and sharing. They are sent home with a monthly news letter of all that they are doing and any upcoming activities. They are in school Tuesday and Thursday mornings 8:30-11:30 and it is perfect a perfect balance to their week. Their class has a total of 9 kids so ratio is just right. The boys will eventually go three mornings/days and then full time just before Kindergarten next fall.
I attended a Mother's Day celebration at their school the Thursday before Mother's Day. Not only was I excited but the boys kept giving me hugs and kisses saying how happy they were to have me there. Cheyenne brings them to school and picks them up taking them to their next destination. This arrangement works great because of the timing of when school starts and so this is a big help for my morning routine and makes things simple. It allows me to get to work at a decent time so that I can get home fairly early. While I am not the one dropping off and picking up, I know that when I do go to their school my time with them is extra special because it is special to for my boys.
The boys greeted me with two white flowers and escorted me to my seat. I was unique in that each kid in their class sat on their mom's lap...I had two! :) I was the happiest mom there and the boys made me feel very special. They were so excited and Jack wanted to help Ms Maria with everything. Ms Maria passed out the first project the boys created. She asked several questions to the boys and then they provided answers. Some questions/answers I had to snicker about. We had to go around the class and read our special message. The boys passed out another project that was a clip to use for whatever use that was nicely decorated and picture of the boys. Then I got a card from them of hands that folded in and out and the message read "I love you this much". I loved everything about my morning, visiting the boys at school.
I got some extra time with my boys Mother's Day weekend. I skyped with my mom and it was great to "see" her. Later that morning the boys and I ran some errands and then stopped at the Fire Station in Mission Viejo. They were really bashful for some reason and so funny enough Brian, Firefighter, asked the boys if they wanted to go see the fire trucks or if Mommy wanted to visit. Well Brian, since you asked...:) All the boys wanted to do was to sit in the drivers seat and Brian was nice to let them hang out for a little. It was funny because 10 mins afterwards he said, whoa I am exhausted. Ha. We said our goodbyes and then played at Founders Park for a little. It was really hot in Ladera that weekend so we did not stay outside very long running around. The boys are not really napping these days, maybe for Cheyenne like two days a week. On one side I miss my downtime during the weekends at this time but on the other it is nice not to have to always think of nap and getting home in time. Plus then they go to bed earlier and are very good about that too. In any event, later I took the boys to the pool by our house. It was nice to get in the water and hang out. We were there for 4 hours. During that time we met a dad, Brian, and his daughter Olivia, 4 1/2. They also have 8 month old twins who were at home. It was great to meet them and look forward to possibly getting the kids to play together. The boys love getting their gear on and having a lot of fun doing cannon balls. They are also getting very comfortable in the water. I purposely leave less air in their water wings so they can really use their legs to kick more and harder. They are doing a great job and feeling especially more secure with the water. I have a feeling it won't be long when they kiss the wings goodbye.
I am really blessed to have such awesome boys that treat me so great. What is even more special to me is they always come up and give me a hug and kiss out of the blue. When I come home from work they run up to me after playing and say I really missed you Mommy. It is moments like these that no one can ever take from me and makes me proud being their mom.
