Life with Jack & Zach: Cupcakes

Remember me? I am the one that started this blog and well, yes, I have been absent for some time--about a month to be exact. :) The reason for me neglecting the blog or any internet and social activity is all very valid. It has been super.crazy.busy at work with our sales expansion. I have been investing a lot of hours during the day and at night AFTER the boys are in bed to get as much accomplished as I can to meet our corporate objectives. No, not necessarily work-life balance, but sometimes we have to do what we have to do knowing things of this nature are ALWAYS temporary. This past week was the first week that I enjoyed just sitting on my tush and watching TV [getting caught up on shows] after the boys went to bed and enjoyed some peace and quiet. We are in the last week of hiring 80 people [in three weeks] so I can get back to working on our blog and well just pure R&R. My husband has been very patient and understands the hard efforts will pay off in the end, and so I appreciate him standing by my side supporting me and my career. Yes this is my career and while it can be hectic and stressful managing needy hiring managers and terminating people (ahem) I do find enjoyment having a career. I will never forget one Friday night that I worked until Midnight so that I could get my candidates scheduled for their interviews starting that Monday. Steve and the boys let me sleep in that Saturday morning, and it felt GREAT. The boys were very sweet because they wanted to watch their morning shows in our room but Steve let them know that I worked really hard and to let me sleep. They tucked me in and said nighty night Mommy! After hearing that I jumped out of bed and said all heck to sleep...:) I am looking forward to our getaway trip towards the end of September and it should be very relaxing...just what our family needs!

Just because I have not posted in such a long time, no worries....THERE IS MUCH TO BLOG about and I will eventually get to all the fun things we have been doing on our "off" time this past month in the next week.

For starters, I had some 1:1 time with my love bugs last Thursday. Steve ran a couple of errands after work and so it was me and the boys and I loved it. For dinner we had my homemade spaghetti and after dinner we got cleaned up and then it was time to make Chocolate Frosted Cupcakes. Tasty tasty as the boys now say after eating something yummy of course. :)

They did awesome mixing and putting the liners in the tray. While the cupcakes were baking we made our way upstairs for bath. It was a nice treat for them after an early bath to enjoy some warm milk and a cupcake. Daddy was home just in time to enjoy a cupcake with us!
