Fireworks and BBQ

It has been super busy at work with another field sales expansion that I am the lead on, again. This time 80 positions. So when I am home all I want to do is snuggle with my love bugs and enjoy some quiet time once they are in bed, which means NO BLOGGING, no computer, nothing. We still have been able to get out and enjoy some fun filled excitement. It was weird having the 4th of July fall in the middle of the week. I don't care who you are---it is just weird, and not a lot of people had "things" happening because of it, which was okay. The morning was quiet and we just hung out at the house playing. The boys took a nice long nap and after they woke, Steve picked us up and we went over to his coworkers, Jason and Melissa's, for a BBQ. It was a lot of fun and those that had not met the boys were excited to meet them for the first time. We had a lot of fun hanging out. I was also able to meet other DPR employees that I have not met yet and they are all super nice. Erin really loved playing with the boys, as did Jenni. They had poppers, and they were very careful when showing the boys had to operate their firework. The helpers that the boys are were so good to throw the garbage away too.

Jason and Melissa live in San Clemente too, just closer to the water. The fireworks show started at 9pm, at SC Pier, and we were just taking the evening minute by minute since we were not certain if the boys were going to make it. They did and Steve and I were very excited for them. The walk down to the pier was about 4-5 blocks and since the streets were crowded with people, we each took turns carrying the boys. It would have been harder with strollers or a wagon. Jason carried Zach and Steve carried Jack. Steve's parents got back into town that evening and we made every effort to synch up but it was hard with the flow of people. I don't think you really know how crowded it was...Yikes. Steve's parents did meet up with us at our house after the fireworks and the boys were happy to see Nana and Papa. The boys were tired and you could see it in their face but they were troopers. I swear they were fast asleep in literally 1 minute.

Z & J. The evening before 4th of July. The boys kept calling each other their buddy and would hug and kiss each other. Very sweet.

Happy 4th

Play time

They loved sitting on Jason's motocycle. He had a lot of toys.

Jack and Daddy at the pier watching the fireworks

It was neat because as the sky lit up you could see so many surfers just lounging on their boards

Here are some video moments captured during the evening.
