Happy 40th Birthday Darrin

My brother turned the big 40 today. I can hardly believe it and I am sure my mom feels the same way as my brother is her first born. My mom did a FABULOUS job raising my brother. Since my dad was in the Navy, he was away for quite a bit of our upbringing at least in the early stages, and she managed through many different elements from moving, not knowing anyone, to being creative on how to get from point A to point B with practicly no help at all.

My brother is such a hard worker and sometimes has to be away from his family for extended periods of time. He is a lineman for ComEd and they are always willing to help in the most desperate times of need. He and his crew helped out families druing the toughest of storms (in IL and out of state) and it is amazing how insensitive some people can be, knowing they always are working their tails off trying to get power back on for families, knowing they would want the same thing in return if the shoe were on the other foot.

He strives at giving his family the most he can offer, and I love that about him. His two boys, Devin and Matt, cherish him more than anything. I am happy that I have two boys because I can certainly relate with him on how that feels and we both can embrace that moment in time and love we get from our sons. I want him to know that regardless of where we both reside, he is in my thoughts and heart each and every single day.

We love you!
