We had a great time visiting with Steve’s cousin Brian, his wife Tiffany, and baby girl Reese Saturday night. The boys woke up as chipper as could be from their nap Saturday afternoon and they were looking forward to visiting with Reese. They got their backpacks together and kept saying baby from the time they woke up and all the way to their house. Brian did an amazing job on the remodel and Tiffany did a fantastic job putting the house together with her decorating. The boys were very gentle with Reese and it is so neat to see them interact with babies, or even with younger children. Of course Chef Brian did a FANTASTIC job with dinner. He made lobster mac and cheese, cedar planked salmon, and steak. DELICIOUS! We visited for some time and then eventually made our home. We left their house thinking FOR SURE boys are going to fall asleep on the way home. Umm, not so much. HA. It must have been the tiny ice cream cones they had for dessert because they were wide eyed making truck sounds the entire trip home. However, as soon as we got them out of the car they put their heads on our shoulder; put them into bed, and nighty-night. They must have been so pooped because they even slept in Sunday morning.

In my job as a corporate recruiter, I talk to many people who reside in the midwest and east coast. It is amazing the number of people that think all we get here in California is sun and mild temps. Nope. We woke up to it raining on Sunday and we love it! We are getting more rain...I cannot wait. The air was brisk and reminded us of October in Chicago. I like that we can experience 3 out of the 4 seasons. We are close to Big Bear and Mammoth and like that we can choose when to visit the really cold weather. DPR owns a house in Mammoth and Steve was selected as one of the few to get offered dates from now through April since they work through a rotation for all DPR employees. We have some things planned already for the spring, but hope that we can find time to sneak in a quick extended weekend trip. Sunday we were off to a great start with the exception of Jackson. The moment he woke up, he had already made up his mind that 1) he was not sharing and 2) he would take every toy away from Zachary ALL DAY. J Overall Sunday morning went well because Steve got the boys out of the house. They all love going to Lowes together. The boys love to watch all the trucks and forklifts. This trip was extra special because it was “out with the old and in with the new”. That is right. We got a new Weber. Our poor little grill that Steve and I got 13 years ago has taken a turn for the worse and has started to fall apart. We remember getting old Weber too. Steve just got his townhouse and it was 1999. We were driving through his Grandparent’s neighborhood and there he was…our little shiny Weber, sitting curb side looking for a good home. This elderly couple had plans to move back to Poland and could not bring the grill with them. So talk about being in the right place at the right time, which usually doesn’t happen. Not to mention Weber was only a year old. Steve had a lot of fun building his new and more masculine Weber and we look forward to grilling A LOT and building new memories. RIP little Weber.
Steve and I dropped the boys off at his parent’s house late Sunday morning. We stopped to have lunch at Beach Fire but this time went to the location in Ladera Ranch. It is much larger not to mention the menu offers a lot more than the one in San Clemente. We had a good time relaxing and enjoyed watching a little bit of football. We then headed over to the mall to pick up a few things. Sunday was also the first day and attempt in getting the boys to take a nap at Steve’s parents. They did which is good news and so now the next step is to get them acclimated to a bedtime routine at his parent’s house. Eventually we made our way back to his parent’s house and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon and evening with the boys. All in all it was a very nice and relaxing weekend. I look forward to many more!

| Zach getting ready to cry, see Jack in the moment. He was so upset from Jack taking all of his things that he started getting even...with biting. :( |
