Steve and I are truly blessed to have our boys in our lives. I know I say this to people all the time, but I cannot imagine my life any other way even on the bad days. To watch the boys interact with each other, play, talk, mimic one another is really entertainment for us not to mention they probably are entertainment to each other. Their personalities were at one point all over the map, meaning they each would take turns being the more aggressive or subdued boy. However, just recently their current personality is starting to stick a little more with them. Zach I think will always be the more subdued while his brother will always be the more aggressive.
Zach and Jack are really nurturing when it comes to other kids, especially with younger children. They both are very caring and are always quick to lend a helping hand. Zach is still the most affectionate out of the two, BUT Jack is starting to pick up on this trait more and more specifically with his brother. They really do love each other! Jack tends to be more of the bully and we have to remind him to play nicely with Zach. On occasion he will just tackle Zach, steal his blankey and doggie and run around the house. As he is doing this, he is laughing because now Zach is emotional. Sometimes we cannot help but snicker because Jack is just being Jack. One of these days he will get a taste of his medicine. One night Jack was in a wrestling mood and tackled Zach right into the Christmas Tree. We had to adjust the tree and ornaments but this is just a sign of the future as it pertains to our little boy Jack. They have been good about sharing lately. Might it be that I tend to drop subtle hints that if they don’t shape up then Santa Claus will not bring them any more monster trucks? Not to mention he might just make a special stop and collect some of their toys and bring them to other kids if fighting and not sharing continues. Oh my, you would think they were 14 years old. I also dropped this line once because Jack was mad at Zach one night because he had to share and thought he would "show us" by turning off the Christmas Tree lights with such force and a look of aggravation. So, I decided to use the famous Santa Claus line and he turned the lights back on and gave Zach a hug. Ha…okay. So people regardless of age that line really does work! J To this day, they both have no fear and will try stunts on their ATV, so I believe we are definitely moving closer to the age where helmets are a must! They love to show off for people, and when this happens beware. You think they just ate a box of candy since they are bouncing off the walls. However, it is cute watching them show others what they are good at doing regardless of how destructive they can be. They love going on road trips whether it is driving by the ocean, or on our way to Costco. Costco you ask? We see buses, trains, and diggers ALL THE TIME. Their faces light up like the white lights hung on the outside of our house. They love to love, greet people, and show people the door…in the most pleasant way possible. J As soon as Steve and I get home, the boys turn to their care taker and say, bye bye with a hug. There are times when I say Nana and Papa are coming over to play and I get the same response, bye bye. So, interesting they are catching on….hmmm.
We are very proud of who the boys are becoming. Although I don’t want to rush our time with them, we are without a doubt looking forward to a bright future, doing MORE fun and exciting things with them.
Since Christmas is right around the corner, I thought this picture was fitting. It is a little small as it is one that JCPenney's created for us and unfortunately since I don't have all the right software, I am not able to enlarge the picture.
