Spontaneous Day

We had an amazing LONG weekend visiting with family. I still need to post about our Thanksgiving Day, but will post about that later. Not to mention I will not be posting in sequence of our eventful activity over the holiday weekend. :) I know, get the blog cop---Gasp! The long holiday weekend was not just fun filled, but it also brought us warmer temperatures. Sunday we decided to get the kids packed up and walk down and around San Clemente Pier.  I was pleasantly surprised because I thought by the time we arrived, which was about 10:15 that parking would be limited…BUT not so much. We got a decent parking spot and made our way down to the pier. As we were walking by Fisherman’s Jack pulled my hand and wanted to walk over to the restaurant. Steve and I looked and said well okay. We were able to sit on the wall, which means we got prime seating, being able to watch the waves crash in, watch all the families bumming around either walking along the pier or playing in the sand, and not to mention watch the surfers. We decided…what the heck. So we sat down to order a beverage and the kids started to color. Since Jack was smacking his lips saying yum, yum that apparently he was still hungry from eating a large breakfast. I asked him if he was hungry and he said yes, so alrighty then! We ordered up some chicken fingers for him and Zach to share. We sat there for about an hour and they did so well. We are really proud of them. Although it was in the upper 70s, it certainly felt much hotter. After an early lunch we walked almost all the way down to the pier, snapped some photos, and then eventually made our way up the hill. We were trying to time it right so that we could see the Surfliner. At about 12:00ish, here is comes and boy oh boy they were excited. As the train approached they both yell Hi! and as it leaves they yell Bye! This tends to startle a few people because they are very vocal about greeting the train! J

I like to call our Sunday morning venture out one spontaneous day!
