Halloween 2011

Although Steve and I were on vacation, we returned home just in time for TorT with the boys. Steve and I along with the boys had a FABULOUS time and I already am looking forward to Halloween 2012. :) Next year will be 20x's more fun and already have some neat ideas.

This was our first time experiencing Halloween in our neighborhood and so now we for sure know what to expect next year. Many of our neighbors had banquet tables arranged with their treats for kids and adults. Some folks brewed apple cider and coffee for the parents passing by. There were some parents walking around with solo cups...wink wink. It was so fun witnessing all this activity. We never got to experience this before. Steve and I lived in an area where we didn't have kids coming up to our door because we were so far removed, did not live in a subdivision.

In any event, TorT starts as soon as the sun goes down. We got the boys dressed up and off we went. I searched high and low for costumes that I know they would have loved, but either they did not fit or the quality was very cheap looking and the style is not what I had in mind. More so we had sizing issues. We ended up dressing the boys up as Beagles! They looked so darn cute!

We made our way to a couple of our neighbors first to say hi and from there the boys definitely got the hang of what they were required to do...ring the doorbell, sometimes they would ring the doorbell and knock on the door, say hi along with a VERY STRONG attempt of Trick or Treat (eventually they just starting saying treat), picking out one goodie, putting it in their bucket, saying bye-bye, and looking at us saying more. :) Off we went to several more houses. At first I didn't think they would last very long but they didn't want to stop. We made our way back to start passing out goodies and they had a sampling of their treats. Nana came over to say hi and she even went back out with them down the hill for more fun. One of our friendly neighbors even gave Steve a refill in his solo cup for scaring the you know what out of Zacharoo. Yikes. :) I know this other Dad was having fun jumping out and seeing everyone's reaction but something tells me you should watch out for the little ones...wholly nightmare.

I took so many pictures...:) What can I say each step of the way was more and more exciting! We are proud of how well they did. Again, looking foward to Halloween 2012.

I was able to get some video of the boys during our TorT adventure!

The boys were so excited that when I asked them to turn around and look at me all I heard was CHHHHHEEEEZZZZZZEEEE while walking. HA.

I kept having issues uploading this particular video from our computer. In attempt to try a different method, I could only publish this video from YT to a new post and I wanted to keep the videos and pics together for Halloween. Check out the link to view the boys in action. https://www.youtube.com/embed/oGWuUAc-7Vw?rel=0

Love,

Julie
