Ear Infection

Today the boys have been sick for one week. Steve and I decided it was time to take the kiddos to the doctor Monday after work. Jack starting coughing at 3:30am Monday morning and he would cough every five minutes. The poor little boy never woke up; he would cough while resting/sleeping. We thought the boys would do well since the last time I brought Jack he forgot about what happened at their 24 month check-up and did great. :) They both did well and listened to the nurse...got on the scale and walked down to their room. Zach tends to be more timid when trying things out and so right away he points to his brother and says "Jack". After he sees his brother going first then Zach makes his move with no hesitation. :) Both boys now weigh 28lbs. I feel like they are not gaining weight but not the case when one of them wants to be carried... :) In any event, as soon as the nurse escorted us to our room that is when Jack lost it. Unfortunately it was the same room as their 24 month check-up and so I think all the memories of nurses and shots came back to him. The poor little boy cried and just hung onto Daddy. At least their doctor was able to check him over while Daddy was holding him. I am happy that we decided to bring the boys in to make certain nothing else was happening internally.

The outcome of our trip to the Doctor: Zach has a cold and we just have to ride that out. Jack on the other hand has an ear infection in his right ear. The doctor noted that it was on the border of turning worse, filling up with puss, and this was contributing to his cough Monday morning.

We now have Jack on an antibiotic and so we are on the up and up. You would not know he has an ear infection because he never demonstrated signs of pain, etc...just playing and laughing. Feel better love bugs!

Love,

Julie
