Since Steve and I have moved to CA we have not experienced anything related to Mother Nature---knock on wood. We did however experience our first black out a week and half ago due to an "oops" caused by an electrician working I think in AZ. The black out impacted parts of AZ, Southern CA, and parts of Mexico. The black out of course happened on a day that was WAY hotter than normal. Trust me when I say it was not the typical 73 degrees perfect temperture, it was rocking 85 degrees and with the sun out...yes, hotter than normal. We compromised with PB Sandwiches, bananas, and
baked chips. :) We gave the boys an early bath since the sun was still out but then it turned darker quickly. As I was getting the boys in their jammies Steve was walking around the house lighting all the candles and finding all the flashlights. I guess I should now mention the boys have a favorite word, "flashlight", since we have some with all different colors. It is amazing they have the hardest time saying "yes", but not lawn mower or flash light. Yes, strange. :) Oh well. The boys did well this night and we even got a kick out of watching them trying to turn the lights on followed by "uh oh" as they try every single switch. :) Our neighbor down the street has triplets and she was kind enough to walk a neighbor up to us bringing dry ice since they knew we had the boys. That was very sweet of them. I was knocked out, but Steve said the lights came on at 10:45 (went out at 3:30pm). It was a good thing he got up because the boys' light was on and fan was on high. What a night! Below are some photos of our eventful evening...in the dark.
