OC Fair 2011

Steve and I decided mid week to take the boys to the OC Fair; their first fair. It was perfect timing because this is the last weekend until 2012. We got up early to get ready. Since the fair opened at 10am our goal was to be out of the house by 9:15am. We met it and were out by 9am. The fair is just slightly north of where we work so the drive north was not bad at all. It is good we arrived early because cars were filling in fast. They had a special rate for all adults; $2/ticket the first hour. Nice.

We decided to bring the wagon because that way the boys could sit and we could hang their diaper bag and snack bag on the back. I cannot tell you how many people stopped us asking what we did to make it because they have little ones and thought it was the best idea. Who would have thought putting two lounge chairs with seat belts in a radio flyer wagon would make heads turn. In any event, the boys LOVED visiting with all the animals. I felt bad because they wanted to get out and run over to them but the ground was a bit muddy from hosing things down from the day before. There were moments when we held the boys and got them closer to the animals.

I cannot believe how great all the food looked. I was a good girl though, excluding the hot fudge sundae...it was a small! :). There was a Monster Truck little kiddie ride. We would have taken them on the ride but we would feel more comfortable doing this next year when they are three, only because of the set up. They were so excited to see the trucks and felt like I let them down. I sure hope the trucks are there next year; crossing fingers! There was an area where they got to ride a little john deere tractors! Since we had to push them, I was also trying to snap pics at the same time.

We decided to give the boys a free day, meaning no schedule and eat whatever they wanted. :) We were having so much fun walking around and looking at all the different venues that we could not part ways just yet. Jack was so beat that 5 minutes after leaving the fair he passed out. It took Zach a little longer. Steve thinks it was because he had too much of mommy's hot fudge sundae. :) Thankfully the traffic to San Diego was backed up so we were able to get home slowly but surely and the boys were at least able to sleep for about an hour. Clearly you could tell they were tired by the time it was bath. We said nigthy night and tucked them in bed a bit early! Not one peep.

Here are few kodak moments from our trip to the OC Fair! Until next year.

:) Jack got a little nervous...

My little guy

We got the boys these birds and didn't realize what they were. Everyone else knew...I guess "angry birds" and it is a game you find on your phone? Anyway...they got a kick out of them.

Zach...not sharing his gold fish. :)

They had a blast!

We said "chicka" from Sprout was there.

Priceless!

Zach...having too much fun.

I was trying to take a quick photo of Jack

We had a blast all day. We ended the day by playing. Jack is becoming really good at his golf swing! :)

Love,

Julie
