It is not like me, lately anyway, to neglect the blog but it has been a little busy at the homefront and at work. Last weekend while it was Steve's turn to get ready for the day, I was hanging out with the boys in their room. I looked at Zach and said, Zacharoo, Mama is pooped. Instantly he crinkled his nose, sniffed, and pointed to my butt. I said, no I don't have to poop and no I didn't toot. He was still insistent on crinkling his nose, making the sniffing sound and yet pointing to my butt. It then clicked because they have been doing some business on the toliet that when I said I was pooped, meaning exhausted, that he must have thought I pooped in my pants. Classic I know. :) This was the "funny" of last weekend.
We have been exploring many different beaches along the coast to determine where we would like to take the boys. We did find one not too far from our house so in another weekend we will pick the next best day to go. They absolutely love the beach and have so much fun. DPR has their annual employee/family picnic on Sunday and the location is two minutes from our house at Doheney Beach. We are looking forward to it and will probably have to pack up tonight. I am a bit nervous because it starts at 11 and ends at 4pm, which means probably no nap for the boys. :) We have started to think of a plan in how they could still nap. I am not getting my hopes up but will let you know how it goes.
We also had surprise visitors a couple of weekends ago as well. An old coworker from Salamone Builders, Mike Favia, and his wife Kristen were in town on vacation. They looked us up and paid a special visit. We were able to meet at Nick's in San Clemente for dinner during the week and it was nice to catch up. They have triplets and so it is great to exhange stories with other parents who have multiples. It is nice to know we are not alone. :)
Steve's parents came into town on Monday after a long week drive so they can keep one of their cars at the house. It is nice to have them here. We went out to a wine tasting Thursday after work for a pre-birthday celebration...for me. :) It was a lot of fun and the featured winery was
Justin.Yummy. On Friday, July 29th I turned 35 years old. Steve and I met his parents at a new resturant we found called Sundried Tomatoes for dinner. We always try to leave work early on Friday so that we can enjoy some time out and not feel rushed. It was a great time. We were home in time to put the boys to bed. Tonight Steve's parents will watch the boys so that we can go out san kids. We have not really decided on a place but it looks like we are leaning towards one of our favs...PF Changs. We have some shopping to do tonight and so it is nice and close to where we have to be.
Work for both of us has been really busy this past week, so busy that I, even Steve, had to put in a few hours a couple of nights, hence the delay in keeping up with blog. I don't mind working if it means that I can get myself to a fresh start the next day. It helps that I don't have the distraction of people stopping by and the phone ringing off the hook. Steve has to go out of town again for work on Monday and won't get home until Wednesday. The regional manager requested him to help kick off some meetings for the Self Perform Group that will take place in Florida and Georgia. No fear the Grandparents are here! I will have help this time, and looking foward to it since it is generally myself home alone with them.
I wanted to say a special thank you for those that wished me a Happy Birthday; my mom (thank you again for the beautiful card), Steve's parents, my brother and Danielle (sister-in-law), and Gregg (Steve's brother). Although I am not one to make a big production out of my birthday it is still nice to celebrate. That said it was nice to hear from all of you on my special day. My old boss from Hospira even sent me an email...thank you Ms. Pamela.
I have included some kodak moments over the past couple of weeks. Enjoy and until next time.
