Catch-up

I simply cannot believe how fast the days, weeks go by. I look at the boys and although they just turned 2, I feel like they have grown over night. There are days when I look at them and I see 5 year olds. Not that I am rushing their lives, but their body language, just how they are sponges and take so much in just fascinates me. We have been very busy over the past couple of weeks.

To start, we have some exciting news (and no I am not expecting :)...although J & Z did nod their head yes when I asked them if they wanted a baby sister...HA! Nana and Papa are moving to California. When they were last here, they decided to go look at a couple of houses in the area. They came home one night while staying at our house and said they did it...put an offer on a house in San Clemente in the Talega Community. We are looking forward to their arrival, which will be early August some time. With Karley back in Oregon end of August for her upcoming wedding, Nana and Papa will be around to watch the boys while Karley is out enjoying her time as Mrs. Styles! :) Here is a photo of the boys' new 'weekend' home...(Just Kidding)!

Nana and Papa's New Home!

Last weekend Steve and I enjoyed a much needed relaxing weekend, just hangin' out with the dynamic duo. Although it was the start of my little Jack coming down with what we thought allergies, but still could be allergy related. He has had a runny nose and just has this "I don't feel so good" look in his eyes. It melts my heart. But I have to say this is the first time he has been REALLY sick. I don't recall him ever being sick even when he was a baby; with the exception of one ear infection. In any event...we had a great weekend and I caught some sweet and adorable kodak moments on camera. Last Sunday Karley's mom, Beth, her sister, Tenley, and Aunt Diane gave her 1 of 3 bridal showers. She is so excited and got some cute things. I actually won the first game, which was who knows Jon and Karley. I was actually shocked I won, but did guess at a couple of the questions. :) Her Aunt Diane lives in Laguana Beach and I believe every window in her apartment has a view of the ocean; absolutely amazing. I will try to get some pics from Karley.

Deep Conversation...:)
Today, we got up and started with our day. Last weekend was Karley's bridal shower and as part of our gift, Steve and I wanted to get her and Jon something special for their apartment. We gave her a photo of one item and had her think about, not knowing how spacious their apartment was, etc. She looked at some other items at IKEA and wanted our input. We got the boys packed up and met her and Jon at IKEA this morning to take a closer look at this dresser she wanted for their Master Bedroom. She is showing us the coordinating pieces of potential items she would like to get once they were married. Well, Steve and I surprised her with a "few" pieces to complete her bedroom. We were elated and she was thrilled. Steve and I really appreciate her being in our lives. I will say this over and over again, but I don't ever worry when she has the boys. Yes I "think" about them during the day but I am never thinking about them in the sense of I hope they are okay. We made our way to her and Jon's apartment to begin putting some of the pieces together. Jon decided that he wanted to build the last item with Karley this evening. With Steve being quite the handy man it did not take him very long. I think it was the opposite for Jon and Karley as she sent Steve the finished product at 6:30 (we left at 1:30). HA.

I told Steve that the boys would have a day of not being held to a schedule because of our outing with Karley. However, Jack was getting worse and worse as the day progressed so we left and headed home. I sort of suspected that he would fall asleep as soon as we got in the car. For sure. Not even 3 minutes down the road....nighty night. Poor little guy. This evening he started to look better.

We took the long route home and went on a scenic drive so they could sleep for a bit. I even dozed off while Steve drove us around. We got home and started playing for a bit. Steve did some more work in the yard all while the boys helped. I made one of Steve's favorite meals, meatloaf and potatoes. We were able to enjoy an early dinner and get settled into the evening. The boys had their bathtime and played trucks for a little. They had a good day even with Jack under the weather!
