WeeKeND Lazy Day fUN!

Greetings Family and Friends,

We decided to take it easy this weekend. The weather has been a little cooler and rainy but tends to clear up by lunch. We ran some errands Saturday and that was about it.  I left for a couple of hours to go get pampered...I finally got a mani and pedi that included a sea salt exfoliate and hot oil combo. I felt so relaxed and enjoyed my time alone. Steve took care of the boys and although I just felt like staying in, he knew that this is something I enjoy doing and don't get to do it often.  While I was downtown San Clemente, I wanted to visit some of the cute shops but I just was not in the shopping mood and will leave that for another day. I got home and the boys were peaking outside their bedroom window. It is funny to see them watching down and even better to see big fat grins on their face! We opted to not head out to Los Patios because Steve and I were going out once the kids went to bed. Our neighbor is living at home, saving up money to buy a new car and welcomes the opportunity to make extra cash and so she is our newest babysitter; Welcome Monica! The boys do so great when we have visitors...they definitely love people. I have to say that lately I have been nervous asking someone new to take care of the boys because terrible two's are here and in overdrive---I don't think they are leaving anytime soon...hmm. As Steve and I joke, walking around the house, "this is only a phase"! :)

We got the boys ready for bed a little earlier because they did not nap in the afternoon and they still require solid sleep so they went to bed at 7:30 vs 8:00pm. I finished getting ready and Monica was at our house in no time. It is great she is just next door. :) We went to our new local hangout,  The Next Door. They have GREAT food and the people are amazing. We try to stop every Friday after work where Monica takes over and Miss Karley heads home. We are starting to get to know the owners Jason and Erin, and our bartender, Eric, is extremely nice. Every Saturday they have a live band. It so happened The Flock of 80's were performing, and man were they awesome. We hope to see them there again but if not I am sure they will be in the area.

Sunday was a new day. After we had cereal and fruit, the boys sat with me in the garage as we watched Daddy work and finish some trim in the kitchen. They did really good; just sat there on my lap. When he would turn the shop vac or saw on I would tell the boys to cover their ears, and they did---so cute. Trying to get ready for the day was a different story. Yikes. Zach was insistent on riding the train and he thought it would be a good idea to bite Jack on the cheek, leaving him with a temporary tatoo. Poor little boy. I do feel bad for Zach because even though at the time he knows what he is doing, he also knows he just messed up. So...in time out we went. As soon as he saw me walk over to him you could just tell he had SORRY written all over his face but I have to stick to my guns. We went to our time out spot and he cried and patted me on the head (their way of expressing sorry) and tried to kiss me. After time out he ran upstairs to say sorry to brother but Jack was afraid he was going to do it again; don't blame him. :) Since it had stopped raining, we decided to get them out of the house and on to Lowes we went to look for a few things.

Other than that, we just hung out and relaxed, which is always nice to do from time to time. I did not take a whole lot of pictures this past weekend as I was feeling a little tired. I could really go for another mani and pedi...:)

This upcoming weekend will be a little busy. DPR invited us to attend a private magic show at this mansion located in Hollywood. We are looking forward to the event as the dress code is formal. I cannot remember the last time I got "dressed" up. I think it was one of Steve's previous coworker's wedding from Salamone Builders. I am bummed because there are no cameras allowed inside the event...boo! In any event, we will stay the night in Hollywood so we can go out afterwards; should be lots of fun. The boys will like that Nana and Papa will be staying the weekend! Steve and I are looking forward to a small, tiny break.
On that note, we are looking forward to the next couple of weeks as we will have Nana, Papa, and Grandma in town visiting. I just have a few more things to do for our special gathering (boys party and our housewarming party) and then I think we are set. We finally invested in a housecleaning service so I have a little more free time to do things (whatever that might be) and not feel like I have to constantly spot clean.

Well, until next time!

Love,

Julie
