WeekEND FuN!

Greetings Family and Friends,

This weekend we sort of did a little bit of everything from just hanging out at home, headed downtown to San Clemente walking along the pier, going to Los Patios for dinner, and to Steve and I getting out Saturday night.

In California during the tail end of May and all throughout June we experience "June Gloom", meaning we get overcast in the morning and then by Noon the clouds break away and bring on the sunshine. To that note the boys have been sleeping later in the morning...til about 8ish or so. If we didn't go in their room to get them then for sure Jack could sleep probably until 8:30am. Because they are only taking one nap now I think it is important that one and only nap is solid, which they are good for sleeping 2.5+ hours. I get nervous that if they sleep any longer or later in the morning then they will not be ready for 1pm and we cannot have any inconsistencies with their nap! :) In any event, so not certain if June Gloom is the cause of "sleeping in" or just growing boys.  After the boys woke we had breakfast, Mommy got ready while Steve and Papa got the boys dressed. From there we headed down to San Clemente Pier. We have been experiencing high surf and wanted to check out the waves! The boys enjoy going down to the pier watching the waves splash. We cannot wait for another month or so when we can perhaps visit the beach regularly on the weekends.

Surfers waiting patiently

HA, waves are not THAT large, but of course as we walk away, we look back to see much LARGER waves!

Seals...oh um surfers

To think we only live a few minutes away!

One looks, the other looks away! :)
We headed back to the house to get ready for lunch, followed by nap time. Steve and I then had to start getting ready as we were invited to attend a private magic show in Hollywood. We were looking forward to it. It was a private event and only those in attendance were invited by one of the magicians, who are considered to be the host. This is a formal event, so it was nice to get out the formal wear and get dolled up. Good thing for me my dresses fit from a few years ago, phew. ;) We had planned to take a limo with some other folks but then the deal fell through at the last minute. Not terribly bad as we were able to hitch a ride with one of Steve's coworkers who lives in San Clemente too. Doug and April Owens have twin boys too, but their boys are 10. Nonetheless it is nice to talk with someone that has learned a few tips and tricks that she is able to pass along. They are good people and we have been able to hang out a few times. So, the trip to Hollywood did not take that long, but long enough. We are located half way to San Diego so imagine our hike to Hollywood. In any event, we arrived at the Magic Castle and could not believe all the people. We had this "magical" button so we were able to drink all night...if we wanted. : ) From there we sat down to have dinner and then made our way to the main show. It was a lot fun and cannot believe the tricks! I am still amazed by some of the tricks and I am still scratching my head in amazement. Unfortunately we were not able to bring cameras, understood, which is why I don't have and pictures to post. Boo. So, we finally started to make our back home around 11:30. Yes, a very long night, but exciting! It was very entertaining and hope to do it again soon.

Steve and I then met up with a guy, Jeff I believe, whom he bought Dry Wall from when he was at Salamone Builders. We met him and his son at Fishermans for lunch. June Gloom was just moving out and here comes the sun. It was great to meet him, and hope that we will synch up with his son Mitch since he will be interning at John Wayne Airport, which is a few short blocks over from where we work.  We ran some errands, found some cool lights for our patio, and then headed for home. Off to Los Patios for dindin! Lip Smacking Good!
All in all it was a great weekend, of course! :) Until next time!

Love,

Julie
