Boys 2nd Easter

WHAT A GREAT DAY we had with our boys. It started with the night before Easter. After they went to bed, we got out their easter baskets, presents, and eggs out. Steve and I were really excited and looking forward to the morning as this would be their first acutal easter egg hunt! :) The morning of Easter, I got the eggs ready to go and hid them all over the first floor. Inside the eggs we put trix, cheerios, and some money for the piggy bank. Jack woke up first and they both slept in a little later than normal. I was surprised Jack was the first to wake because Zach normally will wake just before his brother. So that we could let Zach continue sleeping we brought Jack downstairs to take in the sites. Yep, not much longer Zacharoo woke. They went right to their baskets and emptied everything out. They got new shirts, which I made sure were cleaned and pressed for the day, bath books, and regular books. Easter style for toddlers...:). Grandma Smith sent them both a musical duck, which is a hoot. After they read their books for a little bit (book worms) they noticed the pastic eggs scattered around. It didn't take long before they caught on what to do. They carried their basket around picking up eggs, but before putting the eggs inside they had to open each one. :) They had so much fun that as Daddy was upstairs with them putting their money inside their piggy bank, I quickly ran downstairs to hide more. They had such a blast.

In lieu of coloring eggs we made fun shapped pancakes for breakfast! Not like they would have any idea about coloring eggs and plus as much as they LOVE to help (they really are helper bees) I could only imagine what the kitchen would look like so next year we will start coloring eggs...in the garage! :) We made bunny, tulip, and butterfly pancakes with a side of sliced strawberries...yummy. They had a blast.

Yummy

So that Mommy could get ready, Daddy got the boys looking spiffy for their outing to see some cousins. Since they would be running around outside most of the day we decided to go casual, but hey, we were doing it Cali style. We made our way over to the Revelles. We had an Easter Brunch, visited with some family, got the kids running around, and took part in their 3rd Easter Egg Hunt! How many can we have in one day...4!!! :) Zach by this time was a pro and cleaned house. Although they could not enjoy anything inside the eggs as they were filled with candy for kids much older...oh well. Steve and I have had them on a routine since the day they were born. Of course as they get older their routine changes, but so here since they are down to one nap a day, our Easter Celebration was spilling over into nap time. I am not surprised they did well. They are such good boys. We are very proud of them. We left the Revelle's around 1:30, home by 2:00 for A quick nap. They slept really hard too.

Jack...you would think he is saying I found another one. Nope. Getting ready to toss the egg over to the other side.

Zach, thinking how many more eggs are left?

Jack, can we just pretend we found them all and move on.

Steve and I decided...let's have another Easter Egg Hunt. HA! Yes, we had a blast! We hid the eggs again and once they woke, we were off on another hunt. Shortly after we made our way outside. The day started with a light rain with the sun peaking through. By late afternoon it got a little chilly, but that didn't stop us. I mean it could be 20 degrees and snowing...:) I do like the fact that the boys can play outside for the most part all year round. It helps them get rid of their energy. The boys starting mowing the lawn, playing with their trucks, and ATVs. I had to crack up because like the wagon, Steve decided to trick out the ATV and attach the boys' mini wagon. I got a video of it, don't mind me laughing hysterically in the background but it was TOOO funny. Zach instantly hopped on and Jack climbed in the back ready to go.
