22 Months

Hello Folks!

The boys turned 22 months, today...April 6th!

So exciting in every way possible. A few posts back I commented that they have officially "wandered" into the terrible twos. We are blessed that its not entirely bad. We of course have our days which are far and few in-between. I know...I hear the whispers of "give it time..." as you experienced parents snicker. That said so far so good. I think by far they are experiencing this awkward stage differently. Although they improve each and every day and can for the most part express their wants and needs, it will be so much different (and better) once they can can actually speak sentences, telling us "Mommy and Daddy I am upset because Jack (or Zach) will not let me play with the toy" vs biting! :) Zach has been better, thank goodness. That and not getting their way, which we will not give into is all that sums up this stage, thus far.

WE do have a lot of fabulous days too. This past weekend they did amazing; listened, shared, took turns, played well without fighting over a toy, and even at dinner as we are keeping up with our Saturday night ritual. This time our neighbors Melissa and Tom with their little boy Evan joined us. It was so much fun. Melissa and Tom commented how good the boys were sitting there listening, so I am hoping us getting out every Saturday is getting them more exposed to table manners. HA. Steve and I would take them out to restaurants from time and time again when we lived in Fox Lake. We would also have thoughts, oh, but going out sans kids is just as nice, not having to pack up "things". Overall they do great. After dinner the clan came back to our house while the boys played together and we had adult time. The boys played so hard that Zach slept in until 7:30 and Jack slept in until 8:30...after going to bed at 8pm. Goodness.

The next day we went and bought the boys a little present. They have been doing great overall and so we thought, what the heck.

Zach and Jack, cruising along on their motorized ATV. They enjoy them so much...just a simple push of the button!

Zach, testing driving the ATV.

Jack, AKA trick master...I had to stop recording as he was pushing the button while partly on the ATV. *Probably need a helmet for Jack. :)

Let the planning festivities begin!!! With their birthday right around the corner, we have started thinking about all the things we can do. We are leaning towards keeping it low key, having some family over, and just hanging out! Nana and Papa as well as Grandma will be in town visiting, so we are looking forward to more family time. Steve's birthday is just a few days before the boys' so we will have a 'triple' celebration too! :)

Jack Jack! I cannot believe how big he is getting.

Zach and his baby blues! Since today was their "birthday", Karley served up a little bit of pudding!
I am glad you had a wonderful day, love bugs! Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you, all that you are learning and the milestones you achieve each day. It is so hard keeping up with all the new things you do. It is especially exciting knowing that you are communicating with us better each day as well, and that you greet us with big smiles, saying Momma and Dada.  A great big help that added to your development is how fast you learned sign language, which was many moons ago already. Where is the time going?!

We are looking forward to a brand new chapter as you enter the world of Two's!

With much love,

Mommy and Daddy
