Life with Jack & Zach: Planes, Trains, and...Trucks

This post is all about planes, trains, and trucks! The boys are your typical boys in that they cannot get enough of trucks. They point and say dat! Although just yesterday it appears Zach was trying hard to say the word truck. Hmmm…maybe it is just my imagination. :)

There is generally a lot of truck activity in our complex and so what they have been doing now is high tail it over to one of the windows, grab onto the ledge, and climb the wall so they get a better view. Hilarious! Yes, they do indeed climb the wall. You can only imagine how our outings are when we take the 405! Another fascination is planes! They both are doing really well in distinguishing sounds. Whether running around or eating, if they hear a plane/helicopter, they will point up to the sky/ceiling and look at you to make sure it is a plane. We respond, yes, a plane and let the excitement begin, dat! Additionally, if we are out an about and we see a plane on the horizon, we call their names and say up. They go bonkers looking up in the sky and when they see the plane, they point, dat! In fact Steve knows of an area near where it is the flight pattern for John Wayne. We took the boys over the weekend, and what perfect timing. A plane was on the horizon so we quickly got them out of the car and watched as the plane flew over us. Smiles galore! We certainly get a kick out of it! Like most other children, they like Thomas the Train! Although nothing compares to Grandpa Helland’s train set back at home, they do like Thomas. It only took them a day to understand who Thomas is so all we have to say is go get Thomas, or go read Thomas and they are off! It really is sweet! In another post we talked about their first trip to the zoo. The park actually had a kiddie train that circled Irvine Park. One of these days we will get them back over for a train ride. We are certain they will enjoy the train ride!
